I pray all of you have found rest and solace over the holiday season. I am writing a quick update to inform you about the direction of the Mimetic Journal in 2025.
Unfortunately, because of our recent move to Texas and the start of a new teaching position, I have not been able to write with the frequency I desire. However, now that my wife and I are more settled, I hope to write more regularly in the new year.
I endeavor to publish essays, poetry, and musings in a bi-weekly format for the foreseeable future. Specifically, I hope to focus on the text or ideas swirling around the text I am currently teaching to my students. This spring, I am slated to teach Notes from the Underground, Antigone, Dante’s Inferno, and Great Gatsby.
My first essay mulling on Dostoevsky’s aforementioned classic will be titled ‘The Underground Man: Past & Present’ and should be in your inbox by the end of the weekend.
As always, I am immensely thankful for your support, insight, and criticism. Additionally, feel free to reach out with a message on Substack or via email if you would like to discuss any ideas more in-depth or provide insight into any of the topics covered in the Mimetic Journal.
Fides Quaerens Intellectum,
T.S.
